Exercise 8: Setting up call forwarding and simultaneous ring
in Lync 2010

Now it’s your turn to try things out. Practice setting up call forwarding and simultaneous ring. Please note: Call forwarding options are available only if your organization is configured to support them. If you’re not sure about which Microsoft Lync 2010 features are enabled, contact your organization’s support team.

To set up call forwarding and simultaneous ring, do the following:

  1. In the Lync main window, in the lower-left corner, click the Call Forwarding menu Button image, and then click Call Forwarding Settings.
  2. In the Lync – Options dialog box, click Forward my calls to:, and then do one of the following:
  1. Click another of your numbers, such as your mobile phone.
  2. Click New Number or Contact, and then search for or click a contact in the dialog box that is displayed.
  1. Click Simultaneously ring, and then do one of the following:
  1. Click another of your numbers, such as your mobile phone.
  2. Click New Number, and then type a new number in the dialog box that appears.

To have calls forwarded, do the following:

  1. In the Lync main window, in the lower-left corner, click the Call Forwarding menu Button image, and then click Forward my calls to, and then do one of the following:
  1. Click Mobile number.
  2. Click Voice Mail.
  3. Click New Number or Contact, and then search for or click a contact.

To stop the call forwarding, do the following:

  1. In the Lync main window, in the lower-left corner, click the Call Forwarding menu Button image, and then click Turn Off Call Forwarding.
